Welcome Stranger

Welcome stranger. I’m glad you could make it. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Lillith and I will be your guide. I can see by the look on your face that you’re not sure about what’s going on around here. Let me explain.

You may not realize it, but you’re…well…dead. Anyway, in the sense that your physical body is no longer part of you. Pull up a chair and I’ll do my best to explain everything to you. This is my establishment. It’s kind of a meeting place for beings of every planet and every dimension to find their way in the great unknown. The idea of being dead takes some time to get used to, especially for us humans.

Anyway, pull up a seat and let me pour you a drink. I’ll make you one of my famous Vamalian Moon tonics. Don’t worry, it won’t hurt you. Here, nothing can truly hurt you. Not in a physical way. You’re still going to be able to feel pain, passion, anger, happiness, and anything else you can think of. You just can’t die…again.

Now before you ask, you’re in the Omniverse. Most beings want to know if they’ve made it to their chosen paradise or if they went the other way. The truth is, it’s neither and both at the same time.

The main thing you need to know about the Omniverse is that there is no such thing as “time” here. You can travel anywhere throughout the entirety of this place, spend as much time as you want, and still return here in what will seem no more than a few minutes. You can travel to distant planets, other galaxies, the past, or the future. It all comes down to what you can imagine. You can even travel to parallel Universes and see how the world would have been had the other side won a war. There’s literally no limit as to what you can do.

If you look around the room, you’ll notice what looks like jewels on the walls. They’re actually pieces of stars from all the known galaxies, and some not so known. In order to travel anywhere, you need only touch one of those jewels. As you get better, you can actually choose where you want to go, but that takes a lot of practice.

There is one rule. You can’t go back home. Well, technically you can, but you’ll be nothing but a shadow on the wall to your loved ones. You’ll be able to see them, hear them, and even touch them, but the consequences are irreversible. Your spirit will eventually go insane with grief. You’ll become trapped and turn into something most humans won’t want around. There have been a few spirits who returned and did just fine, but that’s a rarity.

I know this is a lot to take in but there’s a lot more to come. It can get real confusing at times, you’re probably going to get lost — everyone does at first — but it will get easier. You might even find that you’re having so much fun you’ll want to create your own worlds and guess what, you can. You only need to use your imagination and you can do anything and go anywhere you’ve ever dreamed.

Here, have another drink. I’ve got some other customers I’ve got to tend to, but if you need me, I won’t be far away. Oh damn, I’ve got 2 Andorian warriors over in the corner trying to out-drink each other. That’s never a good thing. Enjoy your drink and if you happen to hear some loud roaring, you might want to duck.
