What’s up? You look like you need a drink. I know, I know, that last little journey kind of freaked you out. I told you not to turn your back on those Pleasure Gnomes. You’re lucky you got out with your pants on.
Don’t worry, we’re not going anywhere this time. Thought we’d just take a break and relax a little. I had Kregar make us up a nice Talaus pie and some clakksenberry tea. It’ll help you calm your nerves and you might lose a memory or two.
So, you’ve been here a while, you gotta have a few questions. What do you want to talk about?
How big is the Multi-Verse? Honestly, I have no idea. The thing about the Verse is that it’s always growing, always evolving. There’s always a new planet, a new dimension, a parallel universe. I’m not sure anyone truly knows what’s all out there. The Great Elders, maybe, but I’m not even sure they’ve got a complete view.
I’ve heard a lot of rumors about the Multi-Verse in my time here, but I don’t know if any of them are true. X told me a story, once, about a “First Verse”. A dark place where those who crossed over just seemed to wander around aimlessly. The pain and anguish they felt grew and took over, giving rise to a race of evil beings. I’m not sure I believe it, but I guess it could happen. He didn’t know what happened to that realm but had heard that’s also where the Great Elders had come from. Personally, I think it’s a load of lognar shit.
Where did who go? X? I have no idea. He just took off and I haven’t seen him since. I know he used to talk about his missing fiance’ all the time. Said he’d looked all over for her when he got here, but he’d never found her. Hadn’t even heard of anyone seeing her. I think that’s what bothered him the most. He could wheel and deal information out of just about anyone, but he could never find anyone who had even heard of her. He always said it was as if she’d been sent to a completely different Verse.
No, nothing really ever shocks me anymore. I’ve gotten used to meeting beings who defy the laws of nature. I remember the first time I met Kregar. I had a hard time not staring directly into his third eye. It always seems to have a mind of its own. What really freaked me out about him was his four arms. He seemed so clumsy but damn, can he get a lot done.
Oh yea, there’s a lot of “bad guys” hanging around the Multi-Verse. You have to remember, everyone comes here. Good, bad, saintly, evil, we get ’em all. I remember a night when Billy the Kid and Molinasia the Beast decided to have a shootout in here. Blew each other’s heads off, twice. Have to admit that it was amusing watching them grow back again.
Oh good, your eyes are beginning to flutter. Means the tea’s taking effect. Let’s get you somewhere to rest. You’re going to need it for our next quest. Oh calm down, you’ll be fine. You have all of eternity to heal. Here, have another sip of tea. There ya go. Okay, nighty night.
